Kansas City T-Bones Turn To Daktronics For New LED Video Display

March 18, 2015
BROOKINGS, S.D. – Mar. 18, 2015 – When Kansas City T-Bones fans return to CommunityAmerica Ballpark in Kansas City, Kansas, this summer, they’ll be greeted by a new LED video display designed and manufactured by Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota. The new display is slated for installation in May, prior to the start of the T-Bones’ season.

“This will have a huge, positive impact on our fan experience at the ballpark,” said T-Bones Vice President and General Manager Chris Browne. “It’s not only a great enhancement to the game-day presentation but it provides our partners with an improved platform to get their message across. Our fans are going to love it.”

The new display will feature a 15HD pixel layout to provide excellent image clarity and contrast with wide angle visibility to appeal to every seat at the ballpark. It will measure 29 feet high by 36 feet wide for more than 1,000 square feet of live video and instant replays. It features variable content zoning which allows for one large image across the entire display or multiple different zones to show any variety of scoring and statistical information, graphics and animations, and sponsor messaging.

“Daktronics is proud to be selected to upgrade the fan experience at CommunityAmerica Ballpark for T-Bones baseball,” said Ryan Kuzman, Daktronics sales representative. “This display is sure to bring an added level of excitement on game day and we’re excited to see it up and running at the start of the season.”

The Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, which owns CommunityAmerica Ballpark, approved the new display at the end of January.

“This cooperative investment in the fan experience at CommunityAmerica Ballpark reflects the great relationship the T-Bones have had with our community, and with the Unified Government (of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, Kansas),” said T-Bones President Adam Ehlert. “It’s a terrific reinforcement that the city recognizes T-Bones Baseball as a local source of affordable, family-friendly entertainment.”

“For the last 12 years the T-Bones have showcased world-class baseball entertainment for residents and visitors to our city,” said Kansas City, Kansas, Mayor Mark Holland. “The new HD video board is another step in their continued offering of a great, family-friendly entertainment option in our community that all can enjoy.”

The display also features industry-leading environmental protection to ensure a long lifetime with consistent, performance and low power consumption, providing value and excitement for years to come.
