Irish Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation, Minister Heather Humphreys, is in NYC this week to aid launch
NEW YORK — American-Irish company UrbanVolt Inc has launched the first app of its kind which allows large companies to make data driven decisions to tackle the climate crisis.
Because time is running out to properly address the climate crisis, UrbanVolt Inc created Dataful. This app enables large, multi-site organizations to instantly calculate the scale of their opportunity in reducing energy consumption and cost for thousands of buildings globally. For the first time, businesses will be able to make data driven decisions on where they should target their efforts in order to drive significant CO2 reductions.
As a Certified B Corp, UrbanVolt Inc developed Dataful to achieve its mission of helping companies do the right thing in solving our environmental problems. As a B Corp, UrbanVolt Inc meets the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability.
“Decisions without data is just guessing,” said Kevin Maughan, CEO of UrbanVolt Inc. “And one of the reasons large companies haven’t fully embraced sustainability is the data vacuum."
“Our Dataful app means that our clients can gather the data on hundreds of sites and move quickly to improve their efficiency. This is in contrast to the months or years of manual site surveys and data gathering which was previously the only option. Dataful is game changing technology which gives executives the data they require to make a decision. We offer this service to large companies who want to transition their organizations to a sustainable future but up until now, they didn’t know who to call.”
UrbanVolt Inc’s global clients include Pfizer, Zimmer Biomet, Seko Worldwide, PipeLife and more.
UrbanVolt Inc works with Enterprise Ireland, the Irish State agency that partners with Irish enterprises to help them start, grow, innovate, and win export sales in global markets.
“The United States is the second largest individual export market for Enterprise Ireland supported companies, highlighting the strength of our economic relationship,” said Kevin Sherry, Executive Director, Enterprise Ireland. “As we continue to work hard to further strengthen this relationship, Enterprise Ireland’s strategy is geared toward encouraging an increased number of early stage companies to the US as their first or core export market, while also assisting more established companies to increase their foothold in the States. We are proud to support UrbanVolt Inc as they endeavor to reduce company’s carbon footprint and aid them in merging their Irish innovations into new markets.”
In the past year two years alone Enterprise Ireland-supported companies opened 119 new offices in the U.S. Minister Heather Humphreys is New York and Nashville this week to engage with key decision makers in the healthcare, engineering and construction, agritech and ICT sectors to raise the profile of the innovative capabilities of Enterprise Ireland supported companies and the world class solutions they provide.
“Market diversification has never been more important than it is now with Brexit on the horizon. Irish companies already make a significant impact to the US economy, but I want to see that footprint growing even further, said Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation, Heather Humphreys. “In the coming days, I will be engaging with key decision makers at the highest levels in Government and industry in Nashville and New York. My key goal will be to promote Ireland as both a source of world-class products and services and as a world-leading destination for FDI."
