Silvair Commissioning redefines the commissioning process, once again earning recognition from lighting industry experts

Philadelphia - Silvair, a pioneer in mesh lighting networks and a leading provider of qualified Bluetooth mesh solutions for lighting control, was announced the winner of the LFI Innovation Award 2019. The company’s Silvair Commissioning system was awarded with the 1st prize in the category “Control and Distribution Systems, Connectivity and Analytics”. The prestigious award was handed out during the anniversary 30th edition of LIGHTFAIR International, the world’s largest annual architectural and commercial lighting event.

The list of products submitted in this category included innovative solutions from multiple established brands, such as Osram, Eaton, Lutron Electronics or Crestron Electronics. The shortlist included 3 finalists - Silvair, Osram and Signify (former Philips Lighting). As explained by the jury, Silvair Commissioning won the competition largely because it is the least proprietary, or in other words, the most adaptable system across manufacturers.

"It is a great honor and a proof that we are doing the right thing. Advanced lighting control strategies can drive enormous energy savings on a global scale. With our solutions, we are making them easier and more affordable than ever before. We are democratizing lighting control because we believe that any building can be smart,” says Rafal Han, CEO of Silvair.

“Since the very beginning of our company, we have been evangelizing about how important interoperability is. Only open standards can drive global adoption of highly efficient connected lighting systems. Only open standards give customers the freedom to choose from a variety of products across different vendors. Interoperability is the key to a fully competitive market. It feels great to see lighting professionals share this vision,” comments Simon Slupik, CTO of Silvair and Chair of the Bluetooth SIG’s Mesh Working Group.

This is not the first time Silvair Commissioning has earned recognition from lighting industry experts. Last year, the product won the Connected Lighting Solution Award at the Trends in Lighting 2018. It was also shortlisted in both the [d]arc awards competition and LuxAwards 2018.

Silvair Commissioning is a set of tools for setting up and managing wireless lighting control systems based on Bluetooth mesh, the first wireless technology for professional lighting applications. To help all industry stakeholders unleash the full potential of this global standard, Silvair has built a platform that radically simplifies and accelerates the commissioning process in commercial spaces. It allows any lighting control parameters to be customized in accordance with current lighting needs or evolving energy codes. Silvair Commissioning automates all networking processes and implements desired groups, scenarios and sensor associations all at once for multiple devices within a zone. It supports actual floor plans and provides a library of ready-to-use customizable control scenarios.

Until the last day of LIGHTFAIR International 2019, Silvair will be showcasing its award-winning solutions at booth #3830 in the Intelligent Lighting Pavilion. A number of times throughout each day, the company is hosting hands-on demonstrations to show how Silvair Commissioning simplifies and accelerates the commissioning process.
