NAILD sheds light on 'Surviving the LED Revolution'

March 23, 2016
PRINCETON JUNCTION, N.J. —The National Association of Independent Lighting Distributors (NAILD) will address the tools needed to navigate the changing landscape of lighting at its annual conference this year, themed Surviving the LED Revolution, April 10-13, 2016 in San Antonio, Texas. The conference will guide attendees through an ever-changing industry with educational sessions, networking opportunities and hands-on exhibitions.

The NAILD Annual Conference offers top lighting distributors and vendors from across the nation the experience of top-notch professional development and industry networking, while staying on top of current trends, best practices and new products.

Industry veteran Jack Curran of LED Transformations, Inc. will highlight the conference with a session called “Predicting Performance of LED Products.” The session will outline how the bar has been raised for LED performance: customers want high CRI, long lifetime, stable CCT and high efficacy. Curran will cover the important standards you need to know, what they imply for a lighting project and how they are measured. He will also cover what standards don’t tell you and what solid-state characteristics are not well understood. Knowing the difference will help you guide customers as to what performance they can expect from their LED products.

“The NAILD annual conference is the perfect forum for lighting professionals to gather to discuss the future of the lighting industry,” said Greg Ehrich, NAILD president. “Dr. Jack Curran will offer his invaluable insight about LED expectations, standards and measurements, information that’s immensely valuable to everyone in the lighting industry.”

Two popular conference features will return this year: Organized Casual Conferences (OCCs) and the Product Sprint.
• The OCCs are the way for NAILD members to get in front of new customers in an organized format, featuring 20 minute one-on-one meetings between exhibitors and distributors throughout the conference.
• During NAILD’s Product Sprint, exhibitors will have an opportunity to showcase their newest products with distributors. Attendees will then vote and winners will be announced during an evening awards ceremony on Tuesday, April 12.

The NAILD Annual Conference is the meeting place for industry professionals to discuss changing technologies, developments, products and more. Lighting distributors and vendor manufacturers go to the conference year-after-year to continue their professional development, grow their networks and strategize with colleagues on emerging business topics.
