IDEAL and Dream School had fluorescent electronic instant start ballasts in their troffers, strip fixtures and coves, which are no longer cost effective and result in high maintenance costs. LED lights are one of today’s most energy-efficient and rapidly-developing lighting technologies. LED tubes for replacement of fluorescents are more durable, offer comparable or better light quality than other options, and above all else, they are safe.

The solution was simple.
LED Source® evaluated and assessed the project and concluded that the most natural option was to interchange the fluorescent tubes with Philips InstantFit LED tubes and utilize the existing electronic ballast. These LED tubes are mercury-free, glass-free and environmentally-friendly.
LED Source® retrofitted 661 tubes throughout the school, reduced lighting energy usage by $4,410 and maintenance replacement costs by $1,782 annually. IDEAL and Dream School have a payback period of a little over 2 years. With the cost savings generated by switching to LED tubes with LED Source®, IDEAL and Dream School was able to immediately purchase a new LED color changing light fixture that controls lighting for their Children’s Theatre.
