MaxLite introduces LED miniature lamps for halogen replacement in low-voltage lighting applications

Dec. 8, 2014

WEST CALDWELL, N.J. – MaxLite unveils LED wedge and G4 base lamps as the perfect halogen replacements in low-voltage lighting fixtures.

Compact in size, but delivering substantial energy savings, the lamps are equivalent to the miniature 20-watt halogen lamps commonly used in landscape, accent, under-cabinet, pendant and decorative lighting fixtures. Consuming just 2.5 watts of power, MaxLite’s LED wedge and G4 lamps work with 12-volt electronic and magnetic transformers to deliver 87 percent energy savings over their less-efficient predecessors. They are certified for safety by TÜV Rheinland and may be used in dry locations.

Using an omnidirectional beam, the lamps distribute a warm and pleasing 2700K light with an 80 color-rendering index (CRI), making them an ideal choice for illuminating countertops, tabletops and retail displays, as well as outdoor landscapes and walkways. The lamps are constructed with a ceramic base and feature a clear diffuser that maximizes light output up to 180 lumens. LED wedge and G4 lamps have a minimum 25,000-hour life and are backed by a five-year limited warranty.
