Aurora Lighting joins The Connected Lighting Alliance

June 23, 2014

Exploding onto the scene at this year's Light+Building trade show in Frankfurt, our AOne™ control module personified the power of connectivity through controllable lighting. We believe this module, along with several other products we're developing, gives us the ability to shape the future of connected lighting, so we made the strategic decision to join The Connected Lighting Alliance.

Why The Alliance? Though our technologies continue to give us an industry-leading advantage, we know the smart home market provides unprecedented levels of opportunity. This can best be tapped by promoting interoperability not only between devices, but between market leaders as well. "Joining the alliance gives us access to in-depth analysis of what's trending in the market," said Aurora Technology Director Simon Coombes. "It's time to create awareness about the intelligent, effective solutions we're developing for the next generation in smart lighting." The alliance also gives us exposure to a large knowledge base and general guidance on standard implementation. How We're Connected Our latest development in controllable luminaires was designed to integrate with a wide range of third-party lighting control and smart home systems. "When combining the wireless AOne control module with our next generation of intelligent luminaires, it creates the foundation for 'Lighting 3.0' -- our term for conscious, intelligent LED lighting solutions that put you in control," said Aurora CMO Neil Salt. Implementing the most controllable luminaires on the market that provide in-line, bi-directional communication directly to each light source is only the first step. "People like to be in control, but they don't yet understand the power they're given with controllable lighting. We're confident this alliance will help us spread the news to a broader audience," said Coombes.
