Guangdong Rongwen, a leading smart LED streetlight solution provider in China, is rolling out its ambitious smart LED streetlight network in full swing, with recently-finished installation of 8,900 Rongwen controllable LED streetlights in Doumen District, Zhuhai, and on-going installations with over 30,000 LED streetlights in Shishan District in Foshan.

Compared with many other LED streetlight retrofits in China, Rongwen is the first company to present a comprehensive LED streetlight solution integrated with interoperable Rongwen outdoor lighting controllers and streetlight management software powered by Streetlight Vision. "Each lamp has its own ID number, and single lamp monitoring & control can be done through computers and various mobile terminals. We use low wattage Rongwen LED streetlights to replace the old high pressure sodium luminairs, saving up to 40-50% of energy and maintaining the illuminance at 28-35 Lux. On top of the energy-savings from the LED luminaires, we also deploy the all-round streetlight management software to achieve at least 30% energy-savings by dimming streetlights according to the lighting demands in real-life scenarios," said General Manager of Guangdong Rongwen Zhuhai Branch, Naifu Liang.

Not only can this solution greatly alleviate the pressure on energy conservation and emission reduction, this solution also brings a streetlight control platform to enable us to monitor and control streetlights in real time. The software is featured with real-time control, failure analysis, different types of alarm systems, energy-savers, lamp lifetime, etc, making streetlight maintenance become much easier and more efficient.

"This is an EPC project with overall investment up to 40 million RMB (USD 6.4 million) all borne by Rongwen. Doumen District government does not need to invest anything, but still share 10% of energy-saving," Liang said. Another major feature of this solution is the extensibility of integrating smart city applications. The widely spread street light network is a perfect platform to realize various smart city applications. "We've installed light sensors, cable-theft nodes, cameras, and environmental sensors in street lights to leverage government's management services for cities."

As a leading intelligent streetlight solution provider in China, Rongwen, who has successfully deployed over 120,000 controllable LED streetlights in 2013, says it will install at least 200,000 LED streetlights in Guangdong, Hubei, Henan, and Hunan. Integrated with LonWorks-based outdoor lighting controllers and the Central Management Software powered by the Streetlight.Vision, Rongwen's LED street lighting solution can save up to 70% of energy. Rongwen will control one of the world’s largest smart LED streetlight bases once it finishes the installation of 200,000 controllable LED streetlights this year.

Guangdong Rongwen Energy Science and Technology Group was founded in 1998, dedicated to providing comprehensive EMC management solutions in street lighting, related devices and professional energy-saving services to municipalities worldwide.

Integrated with Rongwen's outdoor lighting controller and LED luminaries and Streetlight.Vision's software that is equipped with multiple practical and advanced streetlight management and networking features, Rongwen's intelligent street light control system has been considered by many reputable organizations, such as LonMark International, as the most widely-adopted energy-saving solution. This system is compatible with HPS, COSMOWHITE and LED lamps to provide different solutions to different roads and is ready to extend smart city management services, like environmental detection and road monitoring applications, to name a few.
