Commercial real estate company incorporates Architectural Area Lighting's KicK LED fixtures in outdoor project

Challenge: The City of Minnetonka, Minnesota, has been at forefront of the Dark Sky discussion and taken a disciplined approach to outdoor lighting. When General Growth Properties set out to redevelop the facades at its mall property in Minnetonka - Ridgedale Center - it stipulated two key challenges for the lighting designer regarding the outdoor pedestrian entry lights. One, it had to feature a high BUG rating (backlight/uplight/glare) and two, it would have address strict Dark Sky regulations.

Solution: For each of the six entries to the building, the lighting team of DLR Group, Schuler Shook and Hubbell Lighting decided that the KicK fixture from Architecture Area Lighting (AAL), a Hubbell Lighting brand, would provide the performance and aesthetics needed to be successful.
