Plessey’s Phytolux Grow Light products can benefit research within organizations growing a multitude of different crop types using LED horticultural lighting. Horticultural lighting has had a paradigm shift with the use of LED technology enabling growers to isolate and mix wavelengths that are more effective in promoting consistent and healthy plant growth, with the possibility of enabling season extension or all year round growing and increasing yield. This technology also enables urban farms to achieve better shelf life for plants and reduce the transportation burden, benefitting the environment.

Plessey recently launched the Attis-7 grow light which features proven energy saving and plant response, no cooling fan, high efficiency, patented heat dissipation design and a built in power supply.

Steve Edwards, Director for Grow Lights, commented:
“’With the advent of wide-spectral range LED horticultural lighting, the ability to maximise photosynthetic response in plants through a combination of improved spectral range and quick and efficient switching cycles is now possible. In addition, LEDs have enabled many other advantages, such as longer lifespan, lower power consumption, less radiant heat directed at the plants and the ability to control spectral composition.”

Horticultural Lighting Conference
The Horticultural Lighting Conference is a one day event featuring a variety of horticultural expert speakers. Key topics at the conference will include horticulture, floriculture, vertical farming, light recipes and how plant and human response to light differs. Horticultural lighting is the LED industry’s most explosive new market, revolutionizing the future of farming with technologies and innovations enabling year-round sustainable fruit, vegetable and flower cultivation. The inaugural Horticultural Lighting Conference is presented by PennWell Corporation and supported by the PennWell LED & Lighting Network, comprised of the industry’s leading publications and tradeshows including LEDs Magazine, Lux Review, Strategies in Light, Strategies in Light Europe, The LED Show and LuxLive.

Plessey’s Attis-7 grow light
Plessey’s Attis-7 grow light has recently been shortlisted at the Elektra European Electronics Industry Awards 2016 for LED Lighting Product of the Year. The awards will recognise and celebrate the technical and business achievements at a Gala Dinner which will take place on Thursday 1st December 2016 at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London. Plessey’s Attis-7 LED grow light is targeted towards commercial, research and university growers. The Attis-7 features proven energy saving and plant response, no cooling fan, high efficiency, patented heat dissipation design and a built in power supply.
