Lutron Electronics' Quantum Vue™ 3.2 Software provides advanced data analytics for lighting controls and IoT applications

May 16, 2016
The latest version of Quantum Vue™ addresses facility managers’ most critical concern—keeping people comfortable and improving operational efficiency.

Coopersburg, PA – Lighting control pioneer Lutron Electronics has unveiled an updated version of its Quantum Vue™ facility management software. Quantum Vue 3.2 gives facility managers the power to deliver an individualized light experience for every occupant in their space. Enabling remote control and monitoring of individual fixtures from a graphical floorplan, Quantum Vue 3.2 introduces advanced analytics capabilities that empower customers to optimize more than just their lights—delivering robust space utilization reports that helps maximize real estate usage and optimize building operations based on when and how often spaces are occupied.

Personalized lighting, at-a-glance
The best-designed buildings keep people comfortable and productive—and personalized lighting plays an enormous role in making that possible. While one individual may need a well-lit environment for sketching, another may prefer dimmed lighting for working on a computer, or more daylight to inspire creativity. The right light can dramatically impact productivity; however, delivering this level of control in an open office environment has been a consistent challenge for facility managers. With Quantum Vue 3.2 web-based software and graphical floorplan and control, they can easily set light levels and tune individual lights, as well as troubleshoot problems quickly by identifying fixtures that have raised alerts.

Do more with less, through powerful space utilization reports As the price of floor space continues to skyrocket, organizations are looking for ways to maximize the efficiency of their building’s real estate. Quantum Vue now delivers advanced space utilization reports that track occupancy data over time. This tells facility managers when and how often spaces are utilized to –
Make better use of existing real estate, and defer adding expensive new floor space.
Help schedule maintenance during times of less activity to limit disruptions.
Focus the cleaning crew’s time on spaces that get the most use.

Smart Assistant for automated window shades
Hyperion Helper Wizard, new to Quantum Vue 3.2, assists facility managers to easily manage Hyperion solar-adaptive shading solutions. This smart assistant helps identify issues with Hyperion shades, uses the built in analytics engine to analyze the issue, and offers suggestions to troubleshoot and improve shade performance. Lutron Quantum® is the only lighting solution on the market that seamlessly integrates lighting and automated window shades on one platform. By managing every source of light entering a space, Quantum can significantly improve occupant comfort while reducing electricity use. With Quantum Vue 3.2, users can open and close shades, edit shade positions, configure Hyperion settings, and monitor shade movements—and they can also fix issues and adjust preferences quickly and easily through the new Hyperion helper wizard.

Enhancing user benefits with Quantum Total Light Management™ With the introduction of Quantum Vue 3.2, the Quantum Total Light Management solution is more robust than ever, generating significant energy savings and through a combination of dimming technology, occupancy and vacancy sensors and daylight harvesting. In addition, it features Lutron’s new, smooth, flicker-free 0.1% Premier LED driver and Soft-on, Fade-to-Black™ dimming for beautiful and functional lighting environments.

Quantum Vue 3.2 is web based, designed for both mobile devices and desktops, and delivers the same user experience on all platforms. This means a facility manager can leverage the system’s benefits from anywhere using any device.

“With Quantum Vue 3.2 we are delivering a truly differentiated user-experience to the marketplace. The graphical floorplan makes it incredibly simple for facility managers to isolate the individual fixture they want to adjust and then tune it to the occupant’s specific needs,” said Eric Lind, Vice President of Global Specifications. “Quantum Vue 3.2 reinforces Lutron’s commitment to deliver magical and insightful light control experiences that help people and buildings work better and smarter.”
