OmniCure® AC8225-F with Custom Optical Design Offers High Irradiance for Rapid Curing, Reduces Power Consumption Up to 60% Compared to Traditional Arc Lamp Systems

WALTHAM, Mass. – Excelitas Technologies® Corp., a global technology leader focused on delivering innovative, customized photonic solutions, has introduced its new OmniCure® AC8225-F UV LED fiber curing system with a custom optical design for curing fiber optic coatings. The new, air-cooled OmniCure AC8225-F provides outstanding optical performance, exceptional cost savings, easy integration and superior uniformity.

The OmniCure AC8225-F UV LED system is specifically designed for fiber curing applications. With advanced front-end optics, the AC8225-F system delivers 12W/cm2 peak irradiance and exceptional uniformity at a 10 to 18mm working distance for fast, even curing. By adapting the output to support application requirements, the new AC8225-F system provides optimized performance for this demanding curing process.

“Excelitas’ OmniCure UV LED curing systems offer many benefits for a wide range of applications, from significantly lower electrical and equipment maintenance costs to increased manufacturing uptime,” said Oliver Scheuss, vice president of solid state lighting and UV/microscopy at Excelitas Technologies. “We are pleased to augment our OmniCure line with the new AC8225-F UV LED fiber curing system, which delivers outstanding performance and cost benefits for a superior alternative to conventional UV lamp systems for fiber curing.”

Compared with traditional arc lamp systems, the OmniCure AC8225-F UV LED fiber curing system reduces electricity consumption by up to 60% delivering exceptional cost savings with no compromises in line speed. With over 40,000 hours of LED lifetime and no replacement parts, maintenance costs are even further reduced.

The OmniCure AC Series of UV LED curing systems utilizes air-cooled LED technology in a compact design allowing for seamless integration into new or existing production lines. The innovative design eliminates the need for costly retooling, external cooling or ozone extraction. The curing systems can be mounted in any orientation for greater flexibility. Utilizing a patented process for addressing individual UV LED module outputs, OmniCure AC Series provides exceptional uniformity over the entire curing area. Multiple UV LED heads can be adjoined while maintaining optical uniformity between each system.
