Minot State University will upgrade dome events with Daktronics LED video display

June 11, 2015
BROOKINGS, S.D. – Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, has been asked by Minot State University (MSU) to design, manufacture and install a new LED video display inside the MSU Dome on campus in Minot, North Dakota. The installation, which is slated for early this May, will bring an extra level of excitement and entertainment to MSU men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball, and wrestling in 2015. “We are excited to partner with Daktronics to provide a new level of game day experience for our fans,” said Minot State athletic director Rick Hedberg. “We installed a videoboard at our football/soccer venue two years ago and it has provided our department with many additional tools to engage our fans. The videoboard in the MSU Dome will transform our facility much like it has done at Herb Parker Stadium. I’m happy for our fans.” The LED video display will measure approximately 19 feet high by 33.5 feet wide and feature 15 millimeter line spacing to provide crisp, clear imagery at wide angle visibility for MSU events. The display includes variable content zoning to provide one large image or to section the display into multiple windows to provide a variety of live video, instant replays, statistics and scoring information, animations and graphics, and sponsor messages. “Minot State’s goal for this project was to maximize revenue for the athletics program, and Daktronics sports marketing has been pleased to assist in helping them achieve their goal,” said Jerry Sikkink, Daktronics sports marketing sales representative. “This will be a great installation for MSU and we’re excited to be a part of it,” said Matt Warnke, Daktronics sales representative. “The display will greatly enhance the game-day experience for MSU fans at any event held in the Dome. We’re looking forward to seeing the display fully installed and making a difference at MSU events in the near future.” In addition to the equipment installation, MSU will also receive 20 standard animations to be produced and delivered by Daktronics Creative Services. This content will consist of any mixture of sponsorship messages, crowd prompts, headshots, game opens and venue announcements at the request of the school. Daktronics LED video and messaging display technology offers a long lifetime with consistent, industry-leading performance and low power consumption, providing value and excitement for years to come.
