Luminit LLC, a privately held, high technology company specializing in custom and standard holographic diffusers, is adding Volumetric Light Shaping Diffusers, or VLSDs, to their unique line of light shaping diffusion products.
Unlike Luminit’s Light Shaping Diffusers (LSDs) that use micro-surface structures to achieve high performance diffusion, VLSD incorporates volumetric diffusion technology for diffusing recessed down lights, troffers, lighting pendants, and other types of ceiling fixtures.
“The LED lighting market has been asking for a high performance rigid diffuser at a competitive price and we are excited to be able to offer them a solution now,” comments Suleyman Turgut, Director of Sales at Luminit. “Designers will appreciate how versatile VSLD is and how well the technology performs on ceiling fixtures.”
With high optical efficiency and excellent hiding power, Luminit VSLDs are UV stable and easily thermoformed for custom installations. Light weight and impact resistant, these rigid diffusers are constructed of 2mm thick PMMA (acrylic) and can be applied to new or existing LED fixtures. According to Luminit, VLSDs have a transmission efficiency of up to 85%* and pricing is commensurate with the company’s thinner film.
