LB115 Series AC/DC Power Supply Offers 115 Watts with a Small Footprint; Wide Temperature Range

VENTURA, Calif. — SL Power Electronics, a division of SL Industries (NYSE/AMEX: SLI) and an industry leader in the design and manufacture of rugged, highly reliable power supplies, introduces the LB115 power supply family intended for architectural LED lighting applications. The new power supply series delivers 115 watts in a compact 2” x 4” x 1.2” footprint and has a built in EMI filter to meet EN55015 class B requirements for lighting fixtures. The LB115 is a single output internal power supply with a wide temperature that is ideal for low power LED applications – such as stage lighting – requiring an efficient and compact power solution.

Perfect for space constrained applications, the LB115 offers a universal input of 90 to 264Vac and comes in four models with output voltages ranging from 12 to 56V. The LB115 features a convection cooled rating of 75 watts and a maximum air cooled rating of 115 watts with 200 LFM, which is delivered throughout the wide operating temperature range from -20°C to 50°C. The LB115 starts up at -40°C temperature and can operate safely in elevated temperatures with reduced output loading, thus providing a remarkable -40°C to 70°C temperature range for intended applications. In addition, the series has active Power Factor Correction (PFC) and provides the critical requirements of the European Union for harmonic distortion in accordance to IEC61000-3-2 Class C from 0% dimming (less than 1Watt) to full dimming. Fully compliant to applicable safety and EMC standards, these Level V efficiency compliant models allow easy integration into many LED, industrial and ITE applications. All four models, ranging from 12 volts to 56 volts, are CE marked to the low-voltage directive and approved to standards of UL/CSA/IEC/EN60950-1 2nd edition. “The new LB115 family meets global EMI and EMC lighting requirements, giving design engineers an easy-to-integrate power supply on a standard platform that reduces time to market and eliminates a costly EMI filter,” said Maggie Nadjmi, product manager for SL Power Electronics. “Our customers have come to expect very high efficiencies and superior EMC performance in our LED power supplies. The new LB115 is the perfect blend of small size, excellent efficiencies and high quality at a very attractive price point.” Featuring a three-year warranty, the RoHS compliant LB115 models have more than 574,000 hours of mean time before failure (MTBF) at 25°C ambient. Available now through SL Power’s extensive distribution sales channels, OEM pricing starts at $39 for 500 piece orders.
