Besides introducing innovative solutions using the new 902 MHz frequency, a major focus at the Alliance booth will be the interconnection of several building areas by synchronizing them to an intelligent, energy-saving system based on energy harvesting wireless solutions. In total, there will be more than 15 EnOcean Alliance members showcasing interoperable, batteryless wireless lighting control products, including: Autani (#3148), EMerge Alliance (#3446), ENCELIUM/OSRAM SYLVANIA (#1001), Functional Devices (#3561), Future Lighting Solutions (#2525), Hubbell (#1745), Leviton (#2024) and Siemens (#4114). Grown to more than 300 member companies offering over 1000 interoperable products, the EnOcean Alliance has led the charge by establishing the leading energy harvesting wireless standard for green buildings. The Alliance continues to drive the EnOcean standard by releasing version 2.5 of the EnOcean Equipment Profiles (EEP 2.5). Now the world’s only energy harvesting wireless specification includes more than 100 application profiles, ensuring the interoperability between EnOcean-based products from different vendors. This is a main condition for deeply interconnected systems. At LIGHTFAIR 2013, visitors will find the following highlights at the EnOcean Alliance booth:EnOcean, the leader in energy harvesting wireless, will highlight the 902 MHz module series, specifically developed for the requirements of the North American market. The 902 MHz transceiver achieves double the range as compared to 2.4 GHz devices for the same energy budget. The 902 MHz energy harvesting wireless products utilize shorter antennas, allowing them to be integrated into very small product enclosures, resulting in a robust wireless platform for building automation applications, for smart home solutions as well as consumer appliances. The 902 MHz portfolio also includes a selection of white label finished products for OEMs who require a faster time to market or desire a complementary addition to their core product portfolio. At LIGHTFAIR, visitors can experience first the 902 MHz EnOcean-based devices by visiting, for example, Hubbell Lighting (#1745). Thermokon, celebrating their 25th year anniversary, manufactures a wide range of innovative, high quality sensors, peripherals and controls for intelligent green building automation, including lighting and motion controls. At LIGHTFAIR 2013, Thermokon will present their "EasySens" range of self-powered EnOcean wireless technology. Visitors will be able to experience the new, state of the art "Thanos" wireless room operating panel. This sleek device enables central control of temperature, humidity, lights, blinds and fan speeds using an intuitive touch screen glass surface. Temperature and humidity detection, set point adjustment and lighting control can all be centrally managed, evaluated and transmitted to a SAB02 valve actuator. This new wireless valve actuator offers efficient power consumption and enables a self-sufficient heating/cooling control, without the need for time and cost-intensive configuration or installation. Utilization of Thermokon gateways means the SAB02 can also operate in conjunction with wired building automation technologies including Modbus, BACnet or LON. For lighting controls, the company offers standalone receivers/controllers and gateways for DALI bus communications.Also at the EnOcean Alliance LIGHTFAIR booth, Magnum Energy Solutions will be showcasing their newest line of advanced products, including an advanced daylight harvesting relay paired with a motion/light sensor. When combined with a wireless, self-powered light switch, these two products provide an "out of the box" day lighting solution. Magnum's AIR configuration tool, also at the Alliance booth, gives building owners the ability to easily implement and make changes to this daylight harvesting solution in buildings without the need for complex BAS systems. ZENO Controls will exhibit its batteryless, wireless product portfolio that enables the control of the entire building or a single room and maximizes energy efficiency with occupancy sensing controls that turn lights off and adjust the temperature when spaces are not in use. ZENO’s pre-configured kits feature wireless solutions that reduce energy consumption via day lighting and occupancy-driven control. The systems meet the specific requirements of hospitality, education and residential environments, providing simple intuitive control of lights, outlets and even temperature, according to individual needs. The product portfolio can be combined with the ZENO gateway systems to integrate them into networks based on other communication protocols such as BACnet or TCP/IP. ILLUMRA will feature its state-of-the-art LED dimming solution that responds to batteryless, wireless controls. Another focus of ILLUMRA’s presence at the show is its family of wireless relays as basis to control lights, lamps, fans, blinds, HVAC systems and security systems. Echoflex will show its comprehensive portfolio of automation solutions based on EnOcean technology. This includes switches, sensors, controllers and gateways. Echoflex’s full line of switches range from durable four button handheld switches to beautifully designed switches with European styling and simplicity, such as the Resonate Wave line of switches. Echoflex’s lighting control products provide the flexibility to implement control schemes that vary from manual systems requiring tenant inputs to totally passive systems requiring no input by the user.
