Stouch Lighting to install LED lighting systems for Delaware River bridges

Date Announced: 07 Dec 2011

Aston, PA - Stouch Lighting announced today that it has been chosen by the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission (DRJTBC) to supply and install new LED and OptaLume lighting fixtures at the bistate transportation agency’s 1-78 Maintenance Facility in Williams Township, PA.

The DRJTBC owns and operates 20 bridges connecting the states of Pennsylvania and New Jersey across the Delaware River. Seven of the agency’s bridges have tolls and the remainder are non-toll spans.

The Commission also owns and maintains roughly 6.5 miles of I-78 between the two states. The Commission’s I-78 Toll Bridge is one of the nation’s busiest and most heavily traveled truck crossings, handling more than 2 million westbound trucks each year..The agency’s I-78 Maintenance Facility is integral in ensuring the safe and efficient travel of the commerce and commuters moving along I-78 between the two states.

Stouch Lighting will be replacing interior and exterior fixtures at the DRJTBC’s I-78 Maintenance Facility to a more energy-efficient light source. The new LED and OptaLume light fixtures create up to 91 percent energy savings and eliminate maintenance costs by 100 percent as well as enhance the quality of light.

“We are excited about the opportunity to install new lighting at this important interstate transportation service facility,” said Justin Stouch, Director of Operations, Supply and Service Chain for Stouch Lighting. “The lights are going to significantly reduce the DRJTBC’s maintenance and energy costs, not to mention enhance light quality at a strategic work location.”
