ALT Wins “Design Oscar”—iF Product Design Award 2010 Date Announced: 09 Dec 2009 Aeon Lighting Technology Inc. (ALT), a leading global manufacturer of high power LED lighting products, today announced that one of its indoor lighting products, the Aurora MR16, has won the coveted iF Product Design Award 2010, known as the “Design Oscar.”
Aurora MR16’s outstanding performance and excellent design was one of 2,489 entries from 39 countries, and one that stands out once more, following the recognition of M Technology Award received last month.
Presented by Hannover-based International Forum Design GmbH, the iF Product Design Award is one of the world's most prestigious design awards. Known as the “Design Oscar,” the panel evaluates each entry’s design quality, finish, choice of materials, degree of innovation, environmental impact, functionality, ergonomics, visualization of intended use, safety, brand value, and universal design.
“To have received another world-renowned award demonstrates ALT’s capability in R&D has reached the top level,” said James Liang, President and CEO of ALT. “As our corporate commitment is to be the ‘Green Leader’, we will continue to develop more eco-friendly and high-quality products with minimal environmental footprint.”
Manufactured with non-hazardous materials, the award-winning Aurora MR16 meets the highest international standard in choice of materials, energy efficiency and environmental impact. It saves 75%-95% energy compared to traditional lights and also can last up to 60 times as long, while the high density aluminum housing ensures optimal heat dissipation.
