The global consumption (use) value of LEDs in test/measurement equipment & medical science (devices/equipment) in 2008 was $16.93 million, up from $13.96 million in 2007.
The consumption value is forecasted to increase to $46.08 million in 2013, with strongly rising quantity growth partially offset by a continuing decline of average prices.

Note: consumption values are based on the packaged single and multiple-chip packaged (single-bulb and multiple-chip/bulb single package) LEDs, before it is placed into the second-level product (board, device, mounting, device, other).
