LiteLED announce Neville Street project in Leeds

Date Announced: 26 Sep 2008

It is with great pride that we are announcing our involvement in the Light Neville Street Project.

As a key part of the Holbeck Urban Village Development, the transformation of Neville Street is a 4.6million pound project designed to provide a new, exciting and welcoming gateway to the city.

Having worked with Bauman Lyons Architects, ARUP Consultants and Leeds City Council for the last three years, it is testament to the hard work and dedication of all parties that the project has now come to fruition.

Our goal, which will be achieved using thousands of LEDs, is to bring to life Hans Peter Kuhn’s work known as ‘A Sound and Light Transit’.

Previous projects such as Doha’s Aspire Tower and Leeds’ Bridgewater Place owe their stunning exterior lighting schemes to the team here at LiteLED. The vision for Neville Street is the same. Aesthetically pleasing and market leading LED technology that we, and more importantly the people of Leeds can be proud of.

The lighting scheme on the East Wall will feature custom built luminaires which disperse light, cold white in colour, from high power Luxeon Rebel LEDs via an injection moulded light pipe. The luminaires will be housed in bespoke anodised aluminium wall panels in a matrix format. We will be using DMX control to achieve artist lighting effects which will change continually, 24 hours a day.
The West Wall will again employ the power and durability of Luxeon Rebel LEDs, this time in the shape of our L-Series luminaire. The L-Series is IP67 rated and will use narrow beam optics and a dimming system to achieve moiré effects.

It is a great honour to be involved in this project, not least because it allows us to display our mastery of LED Technology in our ever developing and vibrant home city of Leeds.
