| Based in Germany, JB Lighting Lichtanlagen GmbH is a well-known global supplier in the field of theatrical & entertainment lighting. The company’s lighting systems are implemented in TV-studios, theaters and live touring businesses. In addition, JB Lighting offers a range of lighting control consoles.
Through the license, JB Lighting obtains access to basic driver and control technologies for LED luminaires and retrofit bulbs.

Philips’ licensing program offers access to many LED-luminaire related inventions of Philips to simplify the use of LED technologies by third parties.
Announced on 30 June 2008 (see News), the Philips patent licensing program covers LED-based luminaires and retrofit bulbs used in the general illumination, architectural and theatrical markets. The new program extends the former Color Kinetics licensing program to enable faster growth of the SSL market.
Philips announced major licensing deals with rival lighting manufacturers Osram and Zumtobel in September 2008 and May 2009, respectively.
In June 2009, American DJ and Traxon Technologies (an Osram company) joined the program. |
