Japan-based LED maker Nichia Corporation has filed a lawsuit against several companies, alleging patent infringement. The companies are:
- Shenzhen Jiawei Industries Co. Ltd., a Chinese corporation
- Jiawei Technology (HK) Ltd., a Hong Kong corporation
- Jiawei North America Inc., a Canadian corporation.
Filed in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, the lawsuit seeks an injunction and damages against the alleged infringement.
Nichia alleges that the defendants infringe three Nichia patents related to white LEDs (US patent no. 5,998,925, 7,026,756 and 7,531,960) and a patent related to LED chips (US patent no. 6,870,191).
