Event News: Conference tour through North America
22 Sep 2008
Over the next 2 weeks, LEDs Magazine’s own Brian Owen will be travelling through 3 countries on a presentation and speaking tour covering a variety of events.
The City of Welland will receive honours at the Transportation Association of Canada on September 22. At the same event, LED Roadway Lighting will be releasing and exhibiting its newest luminaire, which will be of great interest to municipalities and utilities that must maintain lighting in accordance to the IESNA RP-8.

On Thursday, September 24, the Ontario Photonics Information Network, in conjunction with IIDEX Canada, hosts "LIGHTSHIFT: LED Solutions Mean Business", a day-long display and signage symposium in Toronto. Brian will moderate a panel presentation on "Market Transformation".

IIDEX NeoCon Canada and Light Canada officially open in Toronto on the following day (September 25), and Brian will again moderate a panel presentation entitled “LED City Living”, which will detail the many LED pilots and projects in Toronto.

Brian will then be off to LEDs 2008 in San Diego, where he will make a presentation entitled, “LED City: A Community of Change” on September 30. Brian will catch up with Tim Whitaker, Editor & Publisher of LEDs Magazine, to bring you the best of LEDs 2008 – keep up to speed with our World of LEDs blog.

From San Diego, Brian will head off to Cancun, Mexico to the International Association of Lighting Designers’ (IALD) conference (Enlighten Americas 2008: The Power of Light, October 2-4, 2008). Brian will moderate a panel presentation entitled "LED City and the Design Community," which is aimed at lighting designers.

From each location, LEDs Magazine will be receiving reports about the event, the industry and the people involved.
