The M4 Tower, a 7-story glass advertising structure built by JCDecaux and designed by architects Foster and Partners, is illuminated from within by 80 PixelBrick LED fixture supplied by James Thomas Engineering.
Located in a prime position on the M4, the gateway road from Heathrow airport and the west of Britain into the centre of London, the tower has giant 50 m2 advertising panels facing in both directions which are seen by over 1.5 million viewers every week.
In a first for outdoor advertising, the structure is made almost entirely from special glass. As a result of lines etched into each glass panel, the tower is able to transmit the light from the LEDs throughout the entire glass structure.
The PixelBricks are positioned inside the tower creating stunning full-spectrum color washes, and are perfect for projects of this nature as they generate little heat, run silently and consume very little power. The PixelBricks were supplied by Stage Electrics.
