Vegas hotel orders Puck Lights for furniture lighting
27 Jan 2005
Lighting Science Group has received an order from a Las Vegas hotel and casino for its news LED light
Lighting Science Group Corporation (LSGC), formerly The Phoenix Group Corporation, has announced a purchase order for cabinet lighting from a major Las Vegas hotel and casino.

The Puck Light, incorporating LSGC's Optimized Digital Lighting (ODL) (TM) technology, will illuminate the interior of armoires, cabinets and other large furniture in the hotel rooms and suites.

The recently developed light will replace hot, high-energy halogen lights with cool, energy-efficient lights that use LEDs.

The new Puck Light provides the same level of illumination as halogen lights using 90% less electricity with dramatically extended life (up to 50,000 hours).

In addition to improving safety and reducing utility and labor costs, the new lamps are environmentally friendly and contain no hazardous substances.

Ron Lusk, Chairman and CEO of Lighting Science Group, said "We are pleased that the efficiency of our advanced manufacturing processes enabled LGSC to win the competitive bidding for this project.

"We believe that lighting using Optimized Digital Lighting technology is the safest and most cost-effective solution in the market and has many applications for the multitude of businesses and municipalities that utilize a substantial amount of lighting, including furniture makers, hospitality, manufacturing, and outdoor lighting."
