Job Description:
Product Design & Development of LED power supplies and controls for Solid State Lighting applications. This entails electrical design of the LED drive circuits for AC or DC input, voltage-controlled or current-controlled systems, and feedback systems for color control. Manage product development from concept through launch with cross-functional global team. Support innovation & advanced technology development.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated competencies in power electronics, analog design & feedback control - design, analysis, breadboarding and testing.
- In-depth working knowledge of Lighting Electronics, Solid State Lighting systems & LEDS, in particular, is a necessity.
- Proficiency in micro-controller based systems - hardware & software design and implementation.
- Develops comprehensive approaches to meeting technical objectives, and performs product design and development with a high degree of independence.
- Demonstrates creativity to support innovation & technology development.
- Performs/Supports qualification tests related to Electrical, Thermal, EMC, Environmental requirements. Strong understanding of high frequency pcb layout requirements.
- Performs competitive benchmarking in conjunction with product management.
- Manages product development process from concept through launch.
- Strong oral/written communication & project leadership skills, and work in global team environments within OSRAM.
- Supports cross-functional departments - marketing, manufacturing, quality, and interfaces with external customers.
- Participates in standardization/regulatory activities, such as ANSI, DOE.
Education & Experience:
BS Eng and 6+ years of experience in the following or MS/PhD Eng and 4+ years of experience in the following: Power Electronics, Analog/Digital Design, Micro-controller based designs.
- Must have significant experience in project leadership.
- Must have strong oral/written communication skills.
