LED Process Engineer
Position: LED Process Engineer

Reports to: Engineering Manager

Location: Austin, Texas, USA

Position Description:

The LED Process Engineer will work in the R&D and production clean room and has ownership of specific equipment and the processes run on that equipment. This individual should have detailed understanding of how their tools operate and how their processes work. The process engineer is responsible for recipe creation and development, establishing process controls and tool qualifications, monitoring the health of their processes, and documenting instructions for running in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in LED manufacturing experience with expertise in several of the following: Photo, Etch, Metal Dep, Cleans, RTP, PECVD, and Metrology. Some experience with equipment maintenance is a plus.

Degree: Prefer MS or PhD in Physics or Chemistry or Materials, Chemical or Electrical Engineering

Responsibilities:

  • Tool and Process Ownership
  • In depth, hands on experience in several of the following: Photo, Etch, Metal Dep, Cleans, RTP, PECVD, and Metrology
  • Create and characterize individual unit processes.
  • Window process parameters to optimize process conditions
  • Create process controls for monitoring processes
  • Fundamental tool troubleshooting and debugging
  • Establish work flow procedures (wafers in, wafers out)
  • Document recipe, and operational procedures
  • Look for process improvements to reduce scrap, and increase yield

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Must have 5-10 years of LED manufacturing experience
  • Solid understand of Design Of Experiment
  • Solid understanding of Statistical Process Control methodologies
  • Self-initiating and proactive; must thrive in start-up environment
  • Excellent oral and written presentation skills
  • Must work well in team environments
  • Must be able to work with outside vendors and applications engineers
  • Proficiency in some statistical software package, such as JMP or Minitab
