Nimbus LED fittings from Louis Poulsen Lighting were embedded in the walls of the Ice Hotel in northern Lapland, where they operate at -40°C. Nimbus was chosen because it is waterproof, it generates insufficient heat to threaten an embarrassing structural collapse, and the blue light matches the color shades of the ice. The lamp also contains a white LED light source.
