Belvidere, NJ | ABB Lighting, a start-up manufacturer of customizable LED luminaires in the United States and Canada, is pleased to announce Greg Murphy will be their first president. Murphy has a long track record of success at product development, building new channels, rep networks, sales organizations, and growth strategy.
Murphy has been a leader in the energy efficient lighting industry for over 30 years. One of his first jobs, as a teanager, was hand-winding magnetic coils for the first generation of CFL lamps, back in the early 1980’s. Since then, his career has mirrored the upward growth of the advanced lighting industry. Murphy most recently completed over 20 years with MaxLite, a NJ-based manufacturer of commercial LED luminaires and lamps. Murphy led many departments during his time at MaxLite, including product development, sales management, customer service, and marketing. Other employers on his resume include: East Rock, Area Lighting Research, AstraLite, and CPI (presently Myers Power).
“I’m thrilled to get this opportunity to launch ABB Lighting in North America, and continue my decades of service to the commercial and industrial lighting markets. I’m committed to having ABB Lighting design and manufacture with the latest LED, thermal, optical, and control components,” said Murphy. “I intend to have ABB Lighting distinguish itself by offering both stock versions of our commercial LED fixtures, as well as custom controls, optics, brackets, and diffusers.”
