Simple Lighting has announced a major expansion to its warehouse headquarters based in Birkenhead.
After three months of construction the Simple Lighting expansion project is near completion. Simple Lighting first launched as a home-based business in 2009 by founder and managing director, Chris Bawden
Simple Lighting first came about due to the struggle of being made redundant from his previous role as Kitchen Designer at MFI. At this low point, Chris decided to make the dream of owning his own business a reality, delivering exceptional customer service and selling quality products.
Over the past five years, Simple Lighting has grown considerably year on year with a turnover of £1.7 million. The business continues to expand its portfolio of lighting products and has an extensive range of clients including; Frankie and Benny’s, Matalan, Adidas and Subway.
The new expansion can accommodate their growing portfolio of brands and has enhanced the warehouse facilities. Further improvements include larger staff facilities, a spacious meeting room and two new management offices. In addition to this, Simple Lighting has also incorporated a dedicated Lab to test products and an LED assembly room.
The additional 4,500 square foot of warehouse space, complimented with many infrastructure improvements not only increases storage but also improves efficiency and handling capabilities. The business is also able to help support the local community in creating a number of new job opportunities.
Chris Bawden said: “We’re delighted with the expansion and strongly believe in keeping up with the pace of the increasing demand for quality lighting at competitive prices. I spend most of my time on the road both in the UK and overseas, attending trade shows and meetings, to keep Simple Lighting at the forefront of the latest products and lighting technology on the market. We recently secured a contract with Easy Connect brand, a big contender in the lighting industry, to which we were thrilled. We’ve begun to expand the existing team and are looking forward to what the next five years has in store.”
