Lighting retailer Downlights.co.uk offers compact Click Scolmore Inceptor Micro LED downlight

Aug. 13, 2014
At Downlights.co.uk we're always on the lookout for a downlight that’s new and original, and after months of looking for something that really stands out we believe we've found it: the Click Scolmore Inceptor Micro.

So what's so special about this LED that sets it apart from the rest?

As a product, the Micro doesn't do anything revolutionary, but the things that it does do, it does better than anything else. For a start, it is incredibly small and can therefore be fitted into the tightest ceiling voids -- i.e. those of 50mm, without any real problems. This is probably one of the light's key selling features, and makes it the perfect downlight when you're looking for something in a tight spot.

Downlights.co.uk's Chris Horridge says:

"When the Click Inceptor Micro was initially launched we were mainly specifying it as the 'go to downlight' for shallow ceiling voids and tight spaces. Since selling over 500 units we've been incredibly impressed with it that we now recommend it as an integrated LED downlight for all occasions!"

So if the Micro is more than just a light that can fit into tighter spaces, what are the other features that really help it to stand out?

What you really have to know about the Micro is that it is an excellent value proposition. With a 400-420 Lumens punch (depending on colour temperature), you're going to get the equivalent amount of light to a 50W halogen light bulb, but without the short life time or the high energy consumption levels.

Chris Horridge explains:

"The compact design of just 49mm in depth is the stand out key selling feature but it also comes with both fixed and adjustable bezels; an industry first in downlighting technology. You choose which style you prefer and dispose of the one you don't need. Even with its small frame size it still produces 400 lumens providing a low energy alternative to a 50 watt halogen. It's also available in dimmable or non-dimmable versions. The fixed version is IP44 which is suitable for bathroom zones 1 and 2."

Ultimately, the Click Scolmore Inceptor Micro is an evolutionary product that is ahead of its competition. With its ability to fit into the smallest spaces, its affordable price and its long life and low-energy usage, there is very little to complain about.

So if you've been thinking about purchasing a set of new downlights -- whether it's for a tight spot or not -- you won't find any currently available that are more versatile or more efficient for the price.
