A Midlands firm is ‘lighting the way’ for one of the UK’s leading housing and regeneration providers to make substantial cost savings for the organisation, along with its tenants.

Ledison Lighting, based at Electric Wharf in Coventry, is one of the UK’s leading designers, manufacturers and suppliers of LED lighting products and worked with asra Housing Group on a pilot project to help light part of its network of 14,000 properties.

Ledison’s LED lights are being installed in the communal areas of asra Housing’s homes, which are based across the Midlands and London – and will save the group as much as 60 per cent on the organisation’s lighting bills.
Kalpesh Mehta, finance manager at asra Housing which has its main offices in Leicester and employs 400 people, said the savings are being passed on to residents.

“We’re really pleased to be working with Ledison Lighting on this project which will see us save thousands of pounds on our energy bills,” he said.

“Energy-saving lights are being installed at a group of properties and the investment will pay for itself in around three years which is a fantastic long-term investment.

“Like every organisation we always investigating ways to work smarter, reduce costs and be more efficient, which in turn helps all our tenants as we pass on maintenance cost savings back to our residents.

“It was important we found a local supplier which meets the standards we set for our properties and tenants so we’re delighted we found Ledison as they quality products which are cost effective.”

Stefanos Kandilidis spent 11 years in research and development with Alstom and General Electric before launching Ledison Lighting in 2010.

He said: “We saw there was a gap in the market to help organisations make the transition from conventional lights to the next generation of lights affordable.

“We’re delighted with the growth we’ve achieved in small space of time and to be working with high-profile organisations like asra Housing Group.

“We’ve installed our LED lights at 25 of asra’s properties and feedback from residents has been extremely positive.”

Ledison exports its products to Belgium, Greece, Spain, Germany, Italy Slovenia Sweden and Australia.
