Daktronics receives Digital Signage Expo award for food and beverage LED display

March 23, 2015
BROOKINGS, S.D. – Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, won a Bronze Digital Signage Expo (DSE) APEX Installation Award in the category of Food & Beverage for the installation of a Center Bar Display at SLS Las Vegas during DSE in Las Vegas, Nevada, last week. The award is in recognition of the execution of an exceptional digital signage or interactive technology display.

“We’re honored to receive this award from DSE for our Center Bar installation at SLS Las Vegas,” said Jim Vasgaard, Daktronics national sales manager – Spectacular Projects. “The recognition serves as a testament to our engineering capabilities as a company as we continue to provide imaginative solutions that fit our customer’s desires.”

The LED display which garnered the award hangs directly above the iconic Center Bar inside SLS Las Vegas. It is the second largest of 12 total LED displays at the venue and serves as a stunning welcome for guests when they arrive at the main entrance of the resort. It features more than 2.1 million LEDs at a tight 6 millimeter line spacing.

Designed for enhanced dimension, the Center Bar display’s upward pitch and LED side panels allow for numerous creative content opportunities. This presents SLS Las Vegas with a very distinct display that has been wowing audiences and patrons with creative 3D video content.

DSE APEX Award finalists were chosen by an independent panel of nine industry professionals and named from a field of nearly 80 entrants from 13 countries competing in 11 major digital signage categories. Gold, Silver and Bronze awards were presented in each category.

Daktronics LED video and messaging display technology offers a long lifetime with consistent, industry-leading performance and low power consumption, providing value and excitement for years to come.
