HessAmerica FARO outdoor-indirect LED luminaire selected for 2014 IES Progress Report

Oct. 13, 2014

Product Description: FARO LED — architectural indirect LED pole mounted luminaire in two sizes.

Design: Karsten Winkels, architect Manufacturer: HessAmerica, U.S. subsidiary of Hess GmbH Licht + Form of Germany. FARO LED from HessAmerica has been selected for inclusion into the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) 2014 Progress Report. The selection was made by the IES Progress Report Committee. Their mandate is to research and report notable developments/advancements in the art and science of lighting, based on product uniqueness and innovations significant to the lighting industry worldwide. A sophisticated optical system in FARO LED enhances outdoor pedestrian spaces with glare-free illumination that provides high visual comfort. It is the only outdoor indirect post-top luminaire on the market to offer a G-0 (Glare-Zero) rating under the BUG (Backlight, Uplight and Glare) classification system. It further provides a unique Type V square pattern of even light distribution. FARO LED also produces higher illumination levels, superior uniformity, and allows greater pole spacings than outdoor indirect LED luminaires with traditional flat-panel secondary reflectors. FARO LED is available in two sizes with pole heights scaled accordingly for an overall heights of 13- and 16-feet. LEDs are available in a choice of warm or neutral color temperatures. Product Description: FARO LED was further noted for advancing light-beam image splitting, using the latest high flux CoB (Chip on Board) LED technology. Its highly tooled optical system comprises a primary reflector and a facetted secondary reflector system. A single aluminum backed CoB LED within the primary reflector projects light upward onto the facetted secondary reflector panel consisting of hundreds of facets. These individual facets capture and break up the brightness of the single source into multiple smaller images with lower intensities. Light is then precisely redirected downward, producing a uniform square Type V distribution. FARO LED’s high output light engine offers a choice of 3000K or 4000K color temperatures with a CRI greater than 80. Power consumption is 56 watts. The universal LED driver accepts input voltages from 120v through 277v at 50/60 Hz, making luminaire selection simple.
