LED Japan/Strategies in Light conference details unveiled

Strategies Unlimited, PennWell Corporation and ICS are pleased to announce details of the third annual LED Japan/Strategies in Light Conference.
Strategies Unlimited, PennWell Corporation and ICS are pleased to announce that the third annual LED Japan/Strategies in Light Conference and Expo will be held at the Pacifico Yokohama Conference Center on September 30 – October 1, 2010.

With attendance at the combined conference and exhibits exceeding 5,300 in 2009, this year’s event is set to exceed last year’s attendance by a wide margin. More than 80 exhibitors will be showing their LED components, systems, instruments and related technologies in the exhibit area.

The conference portion of the event has been expanded this year to include a separate Lighting Track to address the latest developments in the applications, product development and standards for LED lighting.

Featured speakers include lighting designer Izumi Okayasu of Izumi Okayasu Lighting Design and Junichi Nakamura, Executive Engineer with architectural and engineering firm Shimizu Corporation. Additional presentations will be given by Toshiba and Osram Opto Semiconductors, Inc.

The main HB-LED Conference Track will continue to explore the latest developments in LED markets, technology, manufacturing processes and emerging applications, including an HB LED market update and forecast from Strategies Unlimited.

Topics including LED backlights for LCD TVs, automotive lighting, test and measurement processes for manufacturing, LED lighting, LED component technology developments, and driver applications will be addressed in depth.

The keynote speaker Koichi Ota, Member of the Board of Corporate Auditors, Toyoda Gosei, will address the history and recent advances in nitride semiconductor LEDs.

Other featured speakers include Alfred Felder, President and CEO. Osram Opto Semiconductors Asia, Ltd., and Jean Paul Jacobs, Product Development Director, LED Lamps and Systems, Philips Lighting China.

Additional presentations will be given by Luminus Devices, Panasonic Electric Works, Infineon Technologies, Stanley Electric, KLA-Tencor, Ocean Optics, Future Lighting Solutions, and McLaughlin Consulting Group.
