Summary Description OPTIS provides software and services for light, optical design, & product visualization, integrated in CATIA V5 and SolidWorks. Includes measured libraries of new-generation LEDs. Simulate HB, warm-white LEDs; model the spectral emission in visible, UV and IR fields. Being CAD integrated, OPTIS solutions can parameter forward current and ambient temperature. OPTIS Solutions enable hyper-realistic, physics-based simulation for optimizing lighting, modeling lit / unlit appearances and textures, for applications including automotive, architecture, street lighting, and aerospace. |
| Detailed Description OPTIS develops and markets CAD-integrated software for the simulation of light and optics and for photo-realistic rendering. In 1989, company OPTIS launched the first industrial photometric software for industry. This development, unique in the world led onto OPTIS focusing more and more on the light simulation needs of industries such as automotive, electronic display, defense, lighting, and electronic appliances. With all the big household names using CAD software to develop their products, OPTIS felt it essential to integrate light and optical simulation capabilities directly into these CAD tools, to give the user a 2-in-1 mechanical and lighting solution, with the user-friendliness of their familiar CAD tool combined with the expert light tools offered by OPTIS savoir-faire.
OPTIS achieved full CAD integration in 2002 by becoming a Gold Partner of the major CAD program SolidWorks. OPTIS launched OPTISWORKS, making light simulation capabilities available to SolidWorks users for the first time.
In 2003 OPTIS launched SPEOS CAAV5 BASED, the version of its flagship software SPEOS integrated in CATIA V5, the wellknown hi-end CAD software used by automotive, construction and aerospace manufacturers.
Today OPTIS is proud of its 1200 customer base which includes most of the major manufacturing companies, like Porsche, Bosch, Siemens, Valeo, BMW, Philips Lighting, NASA, EADS…
As well as developing and marketing its software, OPTIS provides consulting and engineering services around light, optics and human vision; it also offers optical measurements, as well as bespoke measurement and a unique hand-held surface characterisation device "Squale". |
