DOE announces 2005 workshop, solicits grant applications

The US Department of Energy will host a two-day workshop on Solid-State Lighting on February 3rd and 4th, 2005
The US Department of Energy's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (Building Technologies Program) will host a two-day workshop (February 3rd and 4th, 2005) on Solid-State Lighting at the San Diego Marriott Del Mar in San Diego, California.

The workshop will focus on updating the R&D topics within the Department's SSL R&D agenda, and will provide further definition of the DOE program goals, expectations, and operating plan. The meeting will also provide a forum for sharing project updates.

SBIR and SBTT solicitation

In related news, the DOE issued its FY 2005 Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Combined Program Solicitation on September 28, 2004.

The deadline for receipt of grant applications is December 13, 2004.
